When to NOT Send Offers

It seems like every time I send out a mailing to my double opt-in list, someone replies to let me know that they received my email, thanking me for the email, telling me they will look at my offer, or just tell me they have it already - you get the idea. However their real purpose for emailing me is to give me an offer and this is more than bad marketing practice, it could be illegal under the CAN SPam Act if you don’t follow the guidelines.

Just because you give someone permission to email you, doesn’t give you permission to email them. So think before you reply with an offer.
