A Look at a “New” Payment Processor
As some of you may know, PayPal does at times close accounts without reason. If you don’t believe me, take a look at my run in with PayPal by clicking HERE.
Anyway, after my ordeal with them, I decided to look for other companies for payments. Yes, I will still use PayPal but it’s good to have a backup plan. Plus PayPal will not allow multi-tier programs & other products/services.
So, I started searching and believe I have found a winner as they work like PayPal feature wise and have been around for about 4 years. They will also allow multi-tier and other programs that PayPal wont. They do require some sites to be approved though.
The company I am talking about is Safe Pay Solutions.
SafePays fees are about the same as PayPals & there are a few draw backs…
1. No phone number listed on site.
This is common for DotCom companies though. Try and call eBay, Amazon, etc. Even PayPal tells you to email if you call with a problem.
I did send an email to SafePay and within about 6 hours I had a general answer my question. Then a few hours later, someone else replied with a more specific answer. This really surprised me.
2. Fees
The fees to send and receive money is close to what PayPal charges. However, they charge for ACH deposits/withdrawls. To me, this isn’t a big deal though.
3. Debit Card is PrePaid
They do offer a debit card but you have to pay $24.95 to get it and it doesn’t use the funds in your account. To fund the card, you transfer all or part of your SafePay balance to your card. Once again, doesn’t bother me at all.
Over all, I would say SafePay Solutions looks solid and I plan on using them on a site that I plan to launch in the upcoming weeks. (PayPal gave the site the boot saying it was violated the Spam AUP. It’s mailing list software though.)
