eBooks, eBay and Profits
Below are some quick tips to help you increase your profits on eBay when you’re selling e-books and other digital products.
Tip One: Provide Instant Access
This is a world of instant gratification. We pay for it - we want - right then. Not when you get home from work work or get around to sending it. Also, in your auctions, let people know it will be instantly delivered upon completion of payment.
Tip Two: Capture the Buyers E-Mail
Basically, on this page, you will thank them for their purchase and instruct them to fill out a form. Below the form, you should have a section that tells them that you we’ll be sending them updates, special offers and other exciting information. You should also add a link directly to the download to allow people who do not want to be on your list to access the product.
Tip Three: Make a One-Time Offer
Basically, after the lead capture form is submitted, you have the follow-up page be a special offer for another product or group of products that are related to the product they purchased. On the top of the special offer page, you should thank them again and let them know that it’s a special offer for them. On this page, you also need to have a link to the download page. You can either put this in the opening paragraph or near the order button and have it say no thanks.
Tip Four: Get a EBay Store
If you open an eBay store, you can save on listing fees and then in your auctions, you only list one item for sale and point people to your store. You could also mention that the item is a little less in your store than on the auction. You should also remind people that you have other deals and offers only available in your store.
Tip Five: Use Your About Me Page
You should use your about me page to not only tell about yourself but also to advertise your web site and use it as a lead generation page. To use it as a lead generation page you just need to offer any course or a download in exchange for their e-mail address. Of course, you want to also give them a one-time offer. Then, when you run auctions, you should mention that you have free gifts on your about me page.
There you have it. Five quick tips to help you increase your profits on eBay. Remember, these tips can be used on pretty much any auction site with a little work.
Before I go, I’m going to give you some resources that will help you implement the above tips.
Resource 1: An eBay Account
I’m sure you already have an eBay account but incase you don’t, you can get one HERE.
Resource 2: A PayPal Account
The reason you specifically need a PayPal account is because eBay requires that digital items be a paid with PayPal. I’m sure you have one already but incase you don’t, you can open one HERE.
Resource 3: Webhost
Option 1. HostGator: Hosting packages start at under $10.
Option 2. Host4Profit: Charges more than mosts hosts BUT understands the needs of marketers and has a monthly residual affiliate program.
Option 3. Push Button Publishing: Besides hosting, they also offer a free mailing list script/service, a buyers club for ebooks and has a very generous residual income plan.
Resource 4: Domain Name
You can get your domain name from a number of companies but I use and highly recommend NameCheap.
Note: GoDaddy is cheaper but never use them. Search Google if you want to know why.
Resource 5: An Autoresponder
Option 1. GetResponse: This is who I use and if you have a tight budget, they offer a free account option that you can use to start with and then later upgrade to the paid account.
Option 2. Push Button Publishing: They provide a script that you can install on your hosting account and a service. However, if you use the service, you will have bad delivery rates. The script, might have a little better delivery rates.
Option 3. Other Script: There are some other scripts you can purchase that are relatively inexpensive. I have some for sale HERE. (You will need to browse for them.)
Note: You will receive much better delivery rates if you use a 3rd party service like GetResponse. The scripts you can host yourself also tend to “bog down” after so many people. Personally, I think everyone should start with the future in mind.
Resource 6: My Digital Dispatch
This program will allow you to verify payments for the correct amount before they can download and allow you safely deliver your products instantly after payment.
Resource 7: Some eBooks
Well, this is a no brainer.
I’m sure you already have ebooks that you are selling but incase you don’t, you can get some at:
Option 1. Push Button Publishing: Has 100s of ebooks and new ones added monthly, plus other benefits, all for one low monthly fee.
Option 2. Just Resale Rights: My site
Resource 8: eBay Store
If you don’t already have their eBay store, you can get one by clicking HERE.
