Working on a tight budget?

While HostGator is my favorite webhost and NameCheap is my favorite domain registrar, I think 1and1 is worth looking at. Especially if you are working on a tight budget.

Domains: 1and1 offers domains for $5.99 and doesn’t require you to buy anything. That’s their normal, every day price.

Hosting: Starts at $2.99 a year and it’s not some crappy little account either. Every account also includes coupons for AdWords, MSN Adcenter, Yahoo Search Marketing and SearchCity. The value of the coupons range from $25-$200 but depends on the account you chose.

They also include some free killer software and free domain names with every account.

The major drawback to 1and1 is that their hosting and domain control panels aren’t very user friendly. All the functions are there but it’s just not very intuitive, IMHO. However, I wouldn’t let that stop me from using them.
